That damned Madoff….Convicted swindler Bernard Madoff is being blamed for a hefty tax bill owed by his former client, screen legend Zsa Zsa Gabor, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press on Friday.

On Oct. 5, the Internal Revenue Service filed a lien of more than $118,000 for the years 2001 and 2002 against the 92-year-old actress in the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds.

Chris Fields, an attorney for Gabor and her husband Frederic von Anhalt, estimates that Zsa Zsa lost about $7 million in Madoff’s 30 year Ponzi scheme. Fields says third-party money managers invested Gabor’s money with Madoff.

Fields says Gabor and are pulling together their resources and working out a payment plan with the IRS. Madoff is currently serving a life sentence in a North Carolina federal prison.
