Ailing screen legend Zsa Zsa Gabor is back in the hospital this evening after she began violently vomiting blood from her lungs at her home in Malibu on Tuesday afternoon.
The heavily-accented Hungarian, the walking personification of beauty during her 1950s-1960s heyday, has been in and out of hospital since suffering from two blood clots following hip surgery last July.
“She is spitting up blood and water. The doctor thinks it’s coming from her lungs so we rushed her to hospital right away. I don’t know what to do. My poor girl, she is in so much pain. It is too much up and down with her, she can’t take it anymore,” Prince Frederic von Anhalt — the seventh husband of the 93-year-old screen legend — told RadarOnline.com today.
“What can I do? What can I do? I can’t help her, I can’t take away her pain. The doctors are looking at her now. We will see what they say.”
The Moulin Rouge actress, whose dwindling fortune has been strained by a mountain of medical bills, spent much of the first month of the new year hospitalized at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles after a gangrene infection prompted doctors to amputate 75 percent of her right leg.
Gabor’s longtime publicist, John Blanchette, says Zsa Zsa has been “going downhill” since she returned from hospital last week.
“She has taken a turn, not recognizing Frederic at one point, and when the doctor came in to the house to check her out, she started screaming at him, ‘Who are you? What are you doing to me?’ I’m told she’s been going downhill since she got home from the hospital.”
Sending good vibes to Zsa Zsa.
