The Ivy Leaguers at Yale University have compiled a list of the Top 10 Quotes of 2009, and it appears Kanye West and hot-headed South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson spouted off some of the year’s most buzzworthy phrases.

“It reveals that things are so polarized now,” said Fred Shapiro, editor of the Yale Book of Quotations. “And the anti-government people can be so impassioned that they lose sight of the fact that something like Medicare is purely a creation of government.”

The Top 10 Quotes of 2009, as compiled by the editor of the Yale Book of Quotations:
