Drummer Michael Scott “Cactus” Moser — the husband of country singer Wynonna Judd — has had his left leg amputated after crashing his motorcycle in South Dakota over the weekend.
Moser was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he drifted out of his lane into oncoming traffic, ramming his two-wheeler into the side door of a Chevy Malibu along US Highway 16/365. The musician “severed” his leg in the accident, forcing doctors to remove the leg from above the knee.
Moser also had to undergo surgery on his hand.
A rep for the pair has thanked fans for their well-wishes during this difficult time:
“Judd and Moser appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans.”
Judd accepted a Christmas Eve proposal from her beau of two years last December. They were wed at the beginning of the year.
Judd and Moser often tour together under the name Wynonna and the Big Noise. The marriage is the third for the crooner.
