NBC is planning a spinoff of its smash Thursday night comedy Will & Grace that could debut on the small screen as early as next Fall.

The new series, tenatively dubbed Karen & Jack, will follow flamboyant gay “Jack MacFarland” and wacky alky “Karen Walker,” the loopy sidekicks who were a staple on the hit sitcom, which left the air in 2006.

According to the National Enquirer, Emmy-winning actor Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally, who played Karen, recently spent a night out at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles discussing the new show.

“Sean didn’t want to carry the show alone and there didn’t seem to be any hope of reuniting him with Megan because she went off to do her own talk show.”

But when Megan’s ill-fated daytime series got the ax in January 2007, she and Sean pitched Karen & Jack to NBC.

The network is already working on a pilot.

“They feel there is still a lot of life left in their character and a lot of comic possibilities.”

Sometimes Supporting characters should stay supporting characters.
Remember Flo from Alice or Florence from The Jefferson? Gloria from All in the Family??
    Leave it alone.

Tonight made my year. I been waiting for YEARS for Jack and Karen to have thier own show. 80% of the reason I watched Will & Grace was because of Jack and Karen. The first time they touched stomchs was day I fell in LOVE with both of them. For years I called the show Jack and Karen and my wife knew what show I was talking about. I just hate soon after the show will air, I have leave overseas for period of time. Aug 09 will take to long get here. I need write NBC tell them produce the show.
