Twenty year old student Whitney Thompson was christened the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10 on Wednesday night.
Whitney beat out Anya (2nd runner-up) and Fatima, who came in third, for an exclusive contract with Ford Models and a gig as America’s newest “CoverGirl.” The blonde stunner is the first plus size model to take top honors on America’s Next Top Model. Watch out for the “big girls.”

The show is actually rigged. Tyra just decided to push a plus sized model through to win the competition. It was evident that Anya had much better Covergirl pictures, but they only decided to choose a mediocre one as her “best” shot. From all of Anya’s past shots and just from watching her pictures being taken, it was evident that Anya would have had a much better shot. They purposely picked bad pictures of both Anya and Fatima (both with their eyes “happening” to look upward). It was just an excuse to get Whitney some recognition. Then for the runway, Anya was forced into skinny little dresses, which would limit her movement on the runway, (similar to Chantal in Cycle 9) and thus would have a weaker runway. Another factor was the photo portfolio comparisons at the end of the episode, which Tyra conveniently chose Whitney’s stronger shots. Whitney had several bad shots throughout the competition, but these were not discussed at the final judging. She was in the bottom two, 4 times, while Anya had never appeared in the final two.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Whitney is very pretty and actually wanted her to win in the beginning, but Anya is much more deserving of the title. Anya too has her flaws, but she would make a much stronger high fashion model than Whitney. Though Whitney’s runway was stronger than Anya’s (given the unfair dress accommodations) she still didn’t fit in with the other models in the show. She was doubtless to say stunning, but she completely clashed with the high fashion image of the show and ultimately of the title of America’s Next Top Model.

And no, Whitney is not ‘high fashion’. She is mainstream through and through. ANTM is about the best model and personality combined, not who ‘wants it the most’. That’s ridiculous. If you’ve watched past seasons girls have wanted it, but because they can’t model they are eliminated. Simple as. You need drive AND talent not just ‘oh I want this but I’m a crap model, pleassseee let me win Tyra!’

I think Whitney was by far the best model. First of all Fatima looked exactly like Iman, who was a model in the early 80’s, and fashion is forward nor backward, second, I think the biggest reason that Anya lost was because of that pidgeon talk from Hawaii(that is what it is called). Her accent was too strong, a Top Model has to represent companies and I’m sure Cover Girl wouldn’t have wanted that (I’m sure they get a say since they are paying someone 100k). Third, Whitney had the best walk, by far, and even Tyra and Paulina said that they had been in shows where they had to where tight dresses but were able to make it work, Anya had NO stage personality on the catwalk. In my opinion, she actually was the worst catwalk finalist in the history of ANTM.
Finally, throughout the show Whitney’s strongest pictures were MUCH stronger than those of Anya. Don’t get me wrong, Anya took some beautiful pic’s, but Whitney’s STRONGEST were much better.
