Beantown says No! to Leno….

NBC’s Boston affiliate says it won’t air Jay Leno’s new primetime talk show.

On Thursday, Ed Ansin, who owns the WHDH parent company, told The Boston Globe he did not believe Leno’s new show would be successful. He said the station would do better financially with a news show that competes with Fox-affiliated WFXT-TV’s highly rated 10 PM newscast. Therefore, the station plans to air the local news in place of Leno’s show, The Associated Press reports.

Ouch…..

The move has prompted a threat from NBC to strip the TV station of its network affiliation. NBC TV Network president John Eck said in a statement that WHDH’s move is a “flagrant violation” of its contract with the network.

Leno is leaving his hosting post on The Tonight Show in June. His new program is slated to premiere this September.

The earlier timeslot is not a good idea. The hateful comments made by Mr. Leno in a recent promo for his new show turned us away from remainig fans.

Never again will his lack of taste be welcome in our homes.

The snide comments made about Cher’s child and her lifestyle were
    way off base and tasteless.

It is 2009 Mr. Leno- accept others as your expect their acceptance of you…

What do you think?
