What Happened to “The Colbert Report?”

There’s something strange going on over at Comedy Central.

Stephen Colbert’s nightly show, The Colbert Report, suspended production rather abruptly on Wednesday night. And apparently, the lights will be dark for the rest of the week

Susan Cain, who was to have appeared on Thursday’s taping of the show, says her booking has been rescheduled for March.

Steve Albani, Comedy Central’s Vice President for Communications, will only confirm that the hiatus is not permanent; promising Colbert Nation that the beloved show will be back soon.

The Wall Street Journal says the cancellation is due to a family emergency.
