Real-life muckracker Wendy Williams is to make her daytime drama debut this March when she appears in a two episode guest arc on ABC’s longrunning soap opera One Life to Live.
The real-life host of TV’s The Wendy Williams Show will appear as — What Else? — a talk show host on the series March 2 and March 28.
Wendy’ll play fictional Goss Watcher Phyllis Rose who sets out to expose the secrets of Llanview’s most prominent family, The Buchanans.
“Paternity switches, kidnapping and incarceration are just a few of the scandals threatening to disgrace Llanview’s most prestigious family, and Phyllis Rose will delve into all the gossip and rumors when she hosts ‘Access Llanview: The Buchanans, A Family Under Siege,'” ABC said in a news release Tuesday.
“She is the perfect person to play Phyllis, and we are looking forward to her bringing the energy and fun that she brings to her own talk show to ‘One Life to Live,” says OLTL executive producer Frank Valentini.
Williams isn’t the first celeb to drop into OLTL. The soap, which has twice featured rapper Snoop Doggs, will host the acting debut of Keeping Up With The Kardashians socialite Kourtney Kardashian later this winter.
