Weight Gain Shamed Rob Kardashian Away From Kimye Wedding Weekend

If you spent the Memorial Day weekend lounging on a sandy surf — with Mojitos, cabana boys and zero Internet access — you might have missed the memo that socialite Kim Kardashian married rapper Kanye West in a lavish outdoor ceremony in Florence, Italy on Saturday.

Yeezy’s partner-in-rhyme Jay Z (initially rumored to be Kanye’s best man) and superstar diva Beyonce were notably absent from the weekend festivities, but there’s another high-profile no-show that’s raising even more eyebrows.

Rob Kardashian, brother of the bride, also skipped the nups.

The sock designer, 27, continues a well-documented battle against the bulge and sources close to the Kardashian klan say Rob’s depression over his significant weight gain prompted him to stand his family up on Kim’s big day. Rob skipped Friday night’s wedding rehearsal dinner in Paris and the main event in Italy, instead opting to fly home to Calabasas.

A People magazine snoop dished:

“He just didn’t want to see a bunch of people both nights and really just is not feeling like himself…He is really overweight and having a hard time with it. There was no big fight between him and Kim. This was just a decision he made.”

Last week, Rob joined the rest of his famous family for the trek from Los Angeles to Europe, ahead of Kim and Kanye’s wedding celebration. It was the first time Rob had been seen in public in months, revealing his dramatic weight gain.

Photos of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star quickly started trending on Twitter and the blogosphere, leading the former Dancing with the Stars contestant to blast his critics on his personal feed:

“so i found out i was trending for being fat… thank you all it really made my day :)”

He later added:

“I’m aware that I’m fat that def aint a surprise to me lol and my only therapy will be in the gym anyways had to say somethingggggggggg…first, i don’t believe in rehab or therapy or anything of that sort and second I’m a grown man and will work on myself when i choose”
