Page the publicist: Supermodel Chrissy Teigen may have just created a public relations nightmare for popular clothing retailer Forever 21. In a new interview with DuJour magazine, the catwalker recalls being fired by the brand early in her modeling career…and the reason may surprise you.
Teigen — whose body could serves as a billboard for the benefits of Pilates — says she showed up on the set of a Forever 21 photoshoot, but was sent packing after crew managers deemed her too heavy to star in one of their ads and promptly “reported her” to her modeling agency.
“I showed up on set. And they asked me if they could take a photo. And they shot the photo over to my agency who then called me as I’m sitting in the makeup chair. And they say, ‘You need to leave right now. You are fat. Come get your measurements taken.'”
It’s Teigen who, of course, has gotten the last laugh: In November 2013, she tied the knot with “Save Room for My Love” crooner John Legend. Teigen later appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Edition.
