Viral Sensation Antoine Dodson Makes Enough Money To Move Family Out Of Projects

A series of successful remixes parodying his spot on a local news network, have earned viral sensatiion Antoine Dodson enough money to move his family out of the Alabama housing projects where his sister was nearly raped earlier this summer.

There’s a man crawling into the beds of unassuming women as they sleep. Of course, there’s nothing funny about the crime in question, but the web couldn’t help but laugh at the interview with the brother of a young Mobile, Alabama woman who woke up to find an intruder in her bed. His sassy commentary and crunked-up threats made us wonder how the reporter was able to interview him without splitting a side!

Run and tell that!

“Well, obviously we have a rapist in Lincoln Park; he’s climbing in your windows, he’s snatching your people up, trying to rape ’em, so you all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband ’cause they’re raping everybody out here” — Dodson, a student at a local community college, retorted. Antoine rant at the would-be assiliant racked up millions of views on YouTube and attracted the attention of the Gregory Brothers, who transform the news clip into songs for their popular ” Auto-Tune the News” series.

That eventually led to their reworking of Dodson’s rant as “The Bed Intruder Song,” which has now been seen more than 10 million times on YouTube and reached No. 3 on the iTunes R&B chart.

Antoine tells ABC News that he’s made “a nice amount of money,” from his various new streams of income “enough to move my family from the projects.”

“I want people to realize that this is funny. It is funny — I’m not going to lie, ’cause we’re laughing too. But this is a serious matter. I really thought that when I went into Kelly’s room, he was choking her life out of her. I was terrified. … It was so crazy. But God allowed me to save her and that’s what I did.”
