Posh is learning to smile. Victoria Beckham had “facial expression” lessons before taping her appearance as a guest judge on American Idol. The 35-year-old former Spice Girl was taped to guest judge on the show following the departure of Paula Abdul, who announced she would not be returning to the series last week.
The British singer-turned-fashion-designer was determined to impress during her first stint as a judge on the talent show, so called on some experts to coach her through drama lessons in a last ditch effort to ditch the “moody cow look” that has become like a second skin.
A chuckling source squealed to Britain’s OK! on Wednesday: “Victoria knows she has a very thick British accent and is sometimes misunderstood in America. She wanted to come across the best she could on ‘American Idol’, so she took some private lessons on how to properly pronounce words and how to make appropriate facial expressions.”
“Victoria is famous for her pout but she herself admitted she wanted to shed that pout for the show to come across more human.”
We’re not sure helpful Posh’s “lessons” were, as several production spies claimed the Brit appeared “icy and wooden” during Idol’s auditions in Denver.
