Ugly Betty-moving to the Big Apple? Although Mode assistant Betty Suarez hails from the surburban New York City borough of Queens, Ugly Betty is filmed in Los Angeles. But producers of the award-winning ABC dramedy are currently considering moving production of the show from the City of Angels to the City That Never Sleeps.

“They are moving production of the show to New York City because it will be cheaper,” a set snitch revealed to PEOPLE Magazine. “The only cast member that may be in question if he’s moving or not is Eric Mabius.”

Reps for Ugly Betty say nothing’s set in stone: “We are exploring options and incentives that make sense for the show and the business.”
