U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Gisele Bundchen Campaigns For Rainforest
Proving that she’s more than a pretty face, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen has been named a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program — and her first order of business is pressuring Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to propose better laws to stop the razing of the world’s largest rain forest.
On Monday, Silva responded that his new proposal to limit sugarcane production in the Amazon and other ecologically sensitive areas is proof of his commitment to preserving the Amazon.
