Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson plays a tough guy in the Fast and Furious films, but the star found himself overwhelmed with emotion when he visited friend Paul Walker’s memorial site over the weekend.
Walker, dad to a 15-year-old daughter, was a passenger in pal Roger Rhodes’ red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT when the sports car crashed into a utility pole and burst into flames just outside Los Angeles. The two men were leaving a fundraiser for their charity Reach Out World Wide.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that speed was a factor in the crash. Britain’s Daily Mail reports that burned rubber and doughnut marks were found near the crash site.
A visibly upset Tyrese fought back tears before breaking down at the crash site in Valencia, California. Upon hearing news of Paul’s death, Tyrese posted an emotional picture of himself with his late friend, writing:
“My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don’t understand My heart hurts it’s broken no one can convince me that this is real…Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family…#HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForeverWeJustCelebreatedYour40thBirthday….My God…My God…I can’t believe I’m writing this.”
