“Transformers: Age of Extinction” on Course for Biggest Opening Weekend of 2014

Big trucks are still big business at the box office: Transformers: Age of Extinction rang in $41.6 million when it opened in theaters across North America on Friday.
The fourth installment in Michael Bay’s film franchise is expected to bring in an estimated $104 million over the weekend; putting Age of Extinction on course to overtake Captain America: The Winter Soldier as the biggest opening of 2014. That Disney-Marvel sequel earned $95 million when it debuted in April.
