Jessica Simpson showed off a noticeably fuller frame–and questionable fashion sense–during a radio station chili cookoff in Florida over the weekend. After being raked off the coals by the media on Monday, the singer’s former personal trainer has taken up arms to defend Jess’ new curves.

Harley Pasternak, Hollywood trainer and author of The 5 Factor Diet, tells Extra the county star is healthy.

Harvey, who worked with Jessica during the filming of Major Movie Star in 2007, maintains that, “She has curves where a woman needs to have curves. We all go a little bit up and a little bit down. But she’s healthy. She’s still sexy. She’s still a beautiful woman. And I have no problem with the way she looks. I think if more people looked the way she looks now, the country would be a lot healthier.”

“Jessica was a fantastic client,” Harvey insists. “I think Jessica has a really healthy perspective on her healthy body image and looks like a woman. I would take her body any day over somebody who’s emaciated and looks unhealthy.” >

    I’m not sure a size 12 is “healthy”….

We call kinda fat healthy now because most of us Americans are very fat. In comparison, being slightly fat is a great thing for us. It also makes us feel better about ourselves to think that being thin or athletically built is unhealthy. When did “curves” become a nice way of saying fat rolls? She has rolls spilling over her mom-jeans. I don’t care what most fat lazy American stay at home moms think, fat rolls spilling out of clothing will never be hot.

I think she looks perfectly fine .The bone is for the boy the meat is for the man,She looks about a size 8 whatever idiot that claims 12 is not healthy apparently never knew Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.Pity Marilyn was a disturbed drug addict and I bet the person Naz is single that commented about fat rolls not being sexy and would have to pay to get a woman to date him. This is just such a shocking example on why America is failing. Are we that unhappy in our own lives to critizise others?

for some women this size looks good. in jessicas case, not so much. if you look at her arms hands and jaw line you can clearly see she has too much meat on her bones.she has a small frame. 15lbs less and shed be perfect, but if shes happy so be it. happy does not equal healthy though.

    Well,
A few curves are kinda hot. Just two months ago my 10 year old nephew commented on how fat someone was. I told him that was impolite, and that she was “Rubenesque.” So now he calls curvy girls and teachers “Rubenesque.” So, Jessica simpson really isn’t fat, just more for the lovin…in a “Rubenesque” way. “Hey Rubenesque girl, come here, are you tickelish?”

Sorry but she looks terrible. Call her healthy if you want but her outfit is bad and the weight gain is not looking good. She is overweight…and she is in the spot light, wearing that outfit, so Jessica and Ashley, suck it up.

I don’t think she’s fat over even overweight, she’s just not skinny anymore and what she’s wearing is very unflattering.

She’s five foot 3. If she eats more than a salad for a few days, it’s going to show. Leave her alone already. Why does anyone care anyway. What do you do when you are stressed and nervous?

Jessica looks beautiful. So what if she put on some weight. She is still smaller then the average American who are 60% FAT.

    Lay off.

I think Jessica looks great in this picture. I think all the movie stars who are so thin look like death eating a cracker and any guys are attracked to that then they are shallow. I was always a thin person in size 1 for 1/2 my life but I did this by purging and now at forty I have heart problems and hypertension. I wish people would start seeing the beauty in all women, the only people we need to make an impression on is GOD. You look great Jessica you are an inspiration to all women. Thank you.

OMG! She looks like she needs to lay off the baby back ribs!! I thought she was dating Tony Roma, not eating at Tony’s Roma’s every night. If Jessica thinks her new look will produce a following, and therefore selling more recodings, she is so mistaking- her body is the only thing that kept her in the lime light. Truth: the folks that blog they are okay with her new look are, well, fat themselves. Sorry, but it’s ture.

First off, Jessica is not a size 12, not even close. My cousin has anorexia nervosa, and I am tired of people and the media criticizing celebrities and woman who have added a few extra pounds. Jessica has ups and downs, as with any other woman. The media speaks negatively about celebrities who are either too fat or too skinny…how is one supposed to fit the criteria of what is perfect? It does not matter a person’s size, but the question is whether they are healthy. Until you see what Jessica eats every day, and see what her exercising habits are, back off. Even then, stop with the scrutiny.

I tell you the truth. Yes she has gained a little weight and a little more curves. Hell most all women do at some point, usually just around freshman year at college know what I mean. She is still hot and I would not kick her out of my bed, my truck, or anything else. And if you say you would. Well your most likely a homo, or twelve, or at least mentally still twelve.

Sonny, I am ‘ok’ with her new look. And no, I am not fat. I am a size 0/2. Who cares what her size is.

In this day and age if someone is not a size 0 then they are huge, in my eyes a women needs curves, i’m not saying huge but she looks fine, dont we have better things to talk about then a celebs wieght…

you idiots.lol. sizes have changed since marylin manroe days. a size 12 at 5′3 is NOT healthy. her trainer isn’t going to out her b/c he has made money off of her. her BMI is in the “overweight” to “obese” category. She is rahter lumpy and disproportionate now, quit lying to yourselves. However, why is it any of our business? It’s not. How would you feel if your weight gain was posted all over the net and tabloids? Think about people’s feelings. My BMI is “underweight” but that’s b/c I am very active. I eat like a horse but I am atheltic and built with a tiny body frame. She is built with a thicker body frame so most of that weight is natural. Leave people’s weight alone! too thin or too thick, either way it hurts peoples feelings.

I don’t know of any celebs who are a size 0. You must not be anywhere clsoe to a size 0 or you would know that very few women are a size 0 b/c of our hips. Asian decent women and women with narrow hips can be a size 0 but not regular women. there is nothing wrong with being skinny either. Why is it that skinny women are called anorexic? maybe we just don’t sit on the couch all day or maybe we’re blessed with good genes. I am active, I eat like a horse, and I am built with a small frame/bone structure but I get critisized for it. How is that fair? fat or skinny, leave it alone. it hurts our feelings. skinny people get tired of hearin about how skinny they are and fat people never hear it b/c it’s “sensitive”. that’s BS! It hurts skinny people’s feelings too. I am 5′6 110 so I wish I was about 5-10 lbs bigger but in a healthy way, not a lumpy way but when you’re built small, 5-10 lbs looks like 20-30lbs. either way, I don’t gain weight so there’s nothing I can do

Jessica Simpson looks just fine. The average American woman wears a size 14; she looks much smaller than that, perhaps an 8? Thank goodness she has a healthier perspective on herself than do those who are calling her “fat” or “Rubenesque” … she is neither. Get a grip, people, she wore unflattering clothes. Big deal. Leave her alone!

I think she looks fine, who wants to work out 2 hours a day to be labeled as hot. I honestly think she is on a break from working out and when she decides shes feeling uncomfortable about her body then will she come back being a hot babe. Anyway she was too skinny when she made “boots are made for walking” I would know I suffered from under eating and over exercising for 2 years and ended up with a body like that. So to me Jessica looks healthy with curves you go girl

What do you think?
