Tom Hanks “Angels & Demons” Catholic Church Ban

Tom Hanks on the Italian set of the Angels & Demon
The Catholic Church has refused to permit a new movie based on a Dan Brown novel to be filmed in churches in Rome because The Vatican is still outraged by the author’s novel and blockbuster film The Da Vinci Code.
The cast and crew of Angels & Demons, starring Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks, have been prohibited from entering two Catholic churches in the Italian capital, a spokesman for the diocese on Monday
It “does not conform to our views,” Monsignor Marco Fibbi told The Associated Press. “It’s a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment. We would be helping them create a work that might well be beautiful but that does not conform to our views.”
