Tom DeLay On “Dancing With The Stars” — “I’m In It To Win It!”
Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has joined the cast of the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars, and he’s “in it to win it!”
“You gotta love dancing if you’re from Texas,” the 62-year-old Southerner told Good Morning America on Tuesday. “I’ve been dancing all my life.”
DeLay — nicknamed “The Hammer” for his reputation of hammering legislation through Congress — says he loves dancing and “jumped at the chance” of joining the competition. The politician doesn’t know who his partner will be yet, but looks forward to showing viewers that “Conservatives can have fun too.”
He cautions that wearing sequin costumes or an open shirt is up for negotiation. “If I open my shirt, I’ll have to get some false hairs.”
The ninth season of DWTS premieres Sept. 21 @ 8PM on ABC.
