RUMOR: Jennifer Lopez has asked scientologist pal Tom Cruise to be godfather to her newborn twins, Max and Emme. Tom’s alleged appointment as godpop comes much to the chagrin of Jen’s malnourished mancandy, Marc Anthony, who is rumored to be concerned about the kooky actor’s mysterious religious beliefs.

“Tom is delighted. Marc wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to have a Scientologist as the kids’ godfather, especially as he and Jennifer are both Catholic,” a tabloid spy says. “But in the end Jennifer managed to convince him to agree.”

Tom is reportedly planning to throw a $200,000 “Welcome to the World” party for his new godchildren.
