The buzz over the shakeup at NBC’s Today Show continues brewing. The latest scoop swimming around the blogosphere has Hoda Kotb in talks to replace an exiting Ann Curry.
And that’s precisely the kind of talk that makes newsreader Natalie Morales a very unhappy girl.
Network bosses are reportedly forking over $10 million to ensure Curry’s exit — which will be announced by the end of the week. Today Weekend host Savannah Guthrie is the frontrunner to take over the coveted spot, but fourth hour Today host Hoda Kotb keeps popping up as a possible replacement.
Further complicating matters? The New York Post’s Page Six Column says that Natalie Morales will walk if she doesn’t get the co-anchor seat alongside Matt Lauer.
Morales has been with the breakfast gabfest since 2006. She was mentioned as a possible replacement for Meredith Vieira last year, but lost the gig to Ann.
A squeal says:
“If Natalie’s passed over for the job, she’s going to leave next. This will be the second time [Natalie] has been passed over for the top job. And she’s not happy.”
