Today In Hip-Hop
Oprah hating 50 Cent wants everyone to shut their flappers about G-Unit breaking up. The “In Da Club” emcee tells sources at MTV that the marginally successful hip-hop clique isn’t splitting up any time soon:
“There’s no company that has had a higher success rate than G-Unit since I showed up. I’ve accomplished what took people 10 years to do in business, in three. “One project doesn’t work and G-Unit is over?” he continued. “What about 50? Put that pressure on me. Cause I’mma smash their head as soon as I come back.”

Oh you modest smooth talker, you! 50, who will soon be launching his own line of condoms, is set to release his third LP, “Before I Self Destruct,” this Spring.
50′s arch rival, rapper The Game, may be dropping his mic:
“I got my third album all in my head,” he said sitting in the director’s chair on the set, with Kanye and G.O.O.D. Music artists Really Doe and Don C. joking in the back. “I know the title. I know how many songs it’s gonna be. I know the concepts. My third album might be my last album — so look out.”

Could Game’s recent “slut” slurred tirade about popular music video models have anything to do with his possible “retirement?” Everyone knows you can’t be a rapper without several dozen video chicks on set and ready to shake their goodies on demand.
“It wasn’t really a dis, I shouted them out,” Game said about some of his unflattering lyrics in the record, which portray the women as having hidden agendas in their interactions with celebrity male performers. “It’s all in the fun, good nature of hip-hop. We’re just having fun. It was never nothing personal.”
Game came under contro last month after verbally attacking some of hip-hop’s most popular video models, including Melyssa Ford and Vida Guerra-he also went Flava Flav’s ex, Hoopz of Flavor of Love Season I.
Speaking of the first season of FOL, contrary to early predictions, someone actually “Loves New York.” The Flavor of Love spin-off, featuring the twice bitten but still not willing to shut up Tiffany Pollard, scored the highest VH1 debut ever racking in 4.4 million saps with nothing else to watch on a Monday night.

And Monday was a big night for the basic cable giant. The tomfoolery known as ” Ego Trip White Rapper,” dreamed up by some industry simpleton who wouldn’t known the Notorious B.I.G from Vanilla Ice if the Hip Hop Bible bit him in the ass, also saw rave ratings-opening to an audience of 2.3 million.

Spike TV will be going hip-hop according to sources with an eye on rap rag. Recently sprung Snoop Dogg will be hosting a documentary style special on his life growing up on the mean streets of Long Beach for the popular “Lifetime for Men” style network. “Bigg Snoop Dogg’s Youth Authority” will reportedly air on January 16th as an deterrant to gang involvement.

And speaking of reality TV, hip-hop producer Kanye West has been tapped by HBO for a role in his own network reality show, according to Hollywood “reporters”. Do we get to watch him storm the MTV Video Awards aboard again? Seinfeld exective producer Larry Charles (the Borat director) will be working will Kanye on the series…..Seinfeld, eh? Given “Kramer’s” December racist tirade, plus the fact that yours truly has never so much as seen two Black faces on those annoying reruns, the Charles/West Connections sounds like a conflict of interest. But stunt legend Eviel Knieval is suing Kanye for seven figures for releasing a video with a Knieval parody, so the dude is probably going to need the moolah.

This comes as K.W has been announced as a performer at the NFL’s February 4th Super Bowl Pregame Show.
