TLC Slammed For Airing “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ Divorce Announcement

Kevin and Jodi Kreider, the estranged brother and sister-in-law of soon-to-be single mother of 8 Kate Gosselin, are speaking out against TLC for the network’s decision to air Jon and Kate Gosselin’s separation announcement on Monday night’s edition of Jon & Kate Plus 8.

The show set a ratings record for the network, attracting an audience of 10.6 million viewers. The Kreiders say they are angry that the split was used to boost ratings for the series.

“We’re just so heartbroken and sad about the announcement that can be so life-shattering to a young child,” Kevin scoffs. “And, it was used as a tease, it was used to gain ratings without any regard for my nieces and nephews….”

The reality series, which shadows the now-divorcing couple’s adventures as the parents of eight children of multiple birth, is on hiatus until August.

“It should not be entertainment and it should not be a show,” Jodi tells RadarOnline.

“TLC, I think, should be ashamed of themselves for airing the destruction of a family,” Kevin says of his sister’s show.

There are a lot of other families with reality shows on TLC, and they aren’t self-destructing.
I think Kate’s swollen ego can take just about all the blame. She lost focus when her fans became so important to her, and she elevated herself above her husband, instead of equal, then started the verbal abuse on him.

If Kate would of treated Jon like an adult instead of one of her kids, then, they would just be filming another episode today, instead of going through all this heartache of divorcing. A person can only take so much abuse( this being verbal). Then in time it becomes resentment towards the other person, the love goes right out of the heart . I think Jon just got tired of being treated like a child, being bossed around by her. I have watched just about every episode of them, and I would sit back and say “gosh Kate stop being so mean to Jon”. Being a person that grew up with divorced parents I used to cry at night for my dad, then becomes the time where you resent your mother for making him leave, I feel so sorry for those kids. May God Bless all the Gosselin childeren. And shame on you TLC.

Right from the beginning Jon looked unhappy. If some type of “contract” took place between J & K , like the tabloids said, allowing Jon to do as he pleases just as long as he does the show, an injustice was done to Jon. It made Jon appear as if he was sneaking around behind Kate’s back, when, in fact, Kate knew about it. That was not fair to Jon

kate nagged jon to the point he feel out of love with her…the show changed when jon tried to cook a nice korean meal for his family and all kate did was complain and belittle him…it was fun bantor until that moment in the show…then you saw jon start to “fight” back with comments and the rolling of his eyes…

her immature mealdowns got tiring over silly things like dirt and paint…kids get dirty and all kate ever did was complain and become the center of attention for some of the episodes that should have been about her kids fun and joy of an activity (painting bowls for mother’s day episode)

the last episode of last season said it all when jon looked so unhappy and just wanted his life back…and kate looked right into the camera and said she was happy…there was no empathy on kate’s part for jon’s true feelings…or even hearing what her husband was telling not only her but the world! she didn’t care and now she wants us to believe she is the victim in all of this!

she had to be demanding and demeaning to her husband and now he has the guts to leave her and her daily verbal abuse…kate got exactly what she deserved…a marriage is a partnership…for kate it was money, tv fame and the limelight…

she lost her husband due to her demanding ways and she has a daughter who is following in her footsteps – maddie!

If I was a gosselin kid I would never forgive them for selling juicy gossip to trashy magazines and for spreading even more trashy gossip about my parents unhappy situation. Sham on you, sham on you. The they have the nerve to sit up and critisize Jon and Kate; come off it and look into the mirror.
