An advisor to Republican presidential candidate John McCain blasted a popular Saturday Night Live sketch poking fun at GOP VP hopeful Sarah Palin as “sexist” in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Monday.
“The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin, and so in that sense they were defining Hillary Clinton as very substantive and Sarah Palin as totally superficial,” McCain advisor Carly Fiorina told Andrea. “I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and yes I would say, sexist in the sense that just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean she lacks substance.”
The sketch, which featured actress Tina Fey as the governor of Alaska and Amy Poehler as Senator Hillary Clinton, brought SNL its highest-rated season opener since 2001.
Do you think Tina Fey’s potrayal of Governor Palin on Saturday Night Live caused the line?
