The First Ladies of Comedy killed it at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, if early projections are any indication anyway.
Early ratings show Globes hostesses/Saturday Night Live alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler brought in a 12% higher audience than fellow sidesplitter Ricky Gervais — who handed over the reigns to the girls after a two year stunt at the helm of the awards show.
No one was off limits when it came to jokes from the femme co-hosts. James Franco, Taylor Swift and even Gervais were all blasted to hilarious perfection by the stellar comedy duo. Our favorite zing came from Amy, who quipped:
“I haven’t been following the controversy surrounding Zero Dark Thirty,” Poehler said referring to nominated director Kathryn Bigelow. “But when it comes to torture, I trust the woman who spent three years married to James Cameron.”
Did you watch Sunday’s show? How do you think Tina and Amy did?
