Tiger Woods Gatorade Drink Discontinued — Gatorade Drops “Tiger Focus”
Gatorade has discontinued a drink named after golfing ace Tiger Woods.
Pepsi Co., which owns the thirst quencher of many an athletic champion, has dropped Gatorade Tiger Focus, but a company spokeswoman claims the move has been in the works for months and denies that Gatorade’s decision is connected to the star’s now-infamous “transgressions.”
“As reported last month, we decided several months ago to discontinue Gatorade Tiger Focus along with some other products to make room for our planned series of innovative products in 2010. We hope to share more about our 2010 plans soon,” Gatorade rep Jennifer Schmit said in a statement Tuesday.
Gatorade’s website describes Gatorade Tiger to be a drink “designed with athletes in mind, helping them to be as mentally tough as they are physically.”
