Tiger Woods Accenture Sponsorship Dropped

Accenture, a international consulting and outsourcing firm, is ending its sponsorship of Tiger Woods, saying the golfer is “no longer the right representative” after the “circumstances of the last two weeks.”
“After careful consideration and analysis, the company has determined that he is no longer the right representative for its advertising,” Accenture said, adding that “it wishes only the best for Tiger Woods and his family.”
The company is the second key sponsor to distance itself from Woods. On Saturday, Gillette announced plans to phase the star out of its ads.
The world’s No. 1 golfer has been the subject of a far-reaching infidelity scandal, which has romantically-linked him to at least 13 women in recent weeks. On Friday, Woods released a statement admitting his infidelity and announcing his “indefinite” departure from golf.
“I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try…”
