Prince will release three new albums in 2009.

The musician said that he is currently working on a trilogy of follow-ups to his 2007′s LP Planet Earth because he is “sick of waiting for Sade to make a new album.”

Four new tracks from the eccentric pop/rock icon made their debut Los Angeles radio on Christmas Day.

Each album will be distributed without the aid of a record label as Prince is in final negotiations with an undisclosed retailer to sell the albums, which will also be available for purchase online.
