The White House Fountain Green In Honor Of St. Patrick’s Day
The Obamas are showing off a little Irish pride this St. Paddy’s Day. The fountain on the North side of the White House was dyed green in honor of the holiday on Tuesday.
First Lady Michelle Obama came up with the idea, says spokeswoman Katie McCormick Lelyveld. Mrs. Owas inspired by the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in her hometown of Chicago, where the city celebrates the holiday by dyeing the river green.
