Daytime Emmy Awards Snubbed “The View”

After a season on-set debates, The View has been managed to make a killing in the ratings — but apparently not enough to snag an Emmy.
When this year’s Daytime Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday, the morning chatfest failed to nab a nod in Outstanding Talk Show category for the first time since 1998.
Instead, the ABC show’s five panelists (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters) are sharing a nomination for Best Host, competing against Ellen DeGeneres, Rachael Ray and Live! co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.
The 36th Annual Daytime Emmys, hosted by Vanessa Williams, will air August 30 on The CW.
The complete list of nominees is available at Emmyonline.org.

I find it hard to believe that The View had killer ratings this year, because everyone I know stopped watching it, including me! Have watched since the first show. But, I got tired of Barbara Walters’ self promotion for shows and that darned book! And then I finally got sick of the arguments. Have wished Elizabeth’s head would just explode on air. I wish Whoopie & Sherri would have their own show.
