“The View” Sarah Palin Controversy Video (October 1)
After today’s episode of The View, we’re convinced Elisabeth Hasselbeck is either mentally retarded or just a silverspoon-fed brat who’s completely incapable of looking at things from any prospective contrary to her own.
The old hens got heated as the raged over Wednesday’s political topic of the day–Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin.
Elisabeth took a swipe at Democratic VP contender Joe Biden, prompting Barbara Walters to say, “Every single day you never ever say, maybe there’s another point, so this is your chance….Tell us now why you think that Sarah Palin would make a very good President.”
Elisabeth’s response? “Tell me why Barack Obama is qualified to be President.”
Answering a question with a question. What a convincing way to make an argument; although she did eventually answer the question. It’s not Elisabeth’s conservative views that are the problem (although they’re very annoying in their own right) so much as her bullheadedness. She forces her opinions on people but if someone probes her reasoning, she either gets all flustered and start boo-hooing or she goes off on a tangent.
Maybe one day Barbara will grow some balls and gag her with a pair of support hose.

Wow, The sound bite I heard on Tv the other day was right. If you are still voting for 4 more years of Republican rule and you dont’ make alot of money, then you are what many around the world call a “stupid American”. To defend a woman running for VP’s retarted statements only makes you ignorant.

That’s typical from a RED state…brainless….get your head out of your …and look at the facts instead of just voting for the same party you always have and GROW up.

Well,
The way I look at it is that you Republicans voted in the worst President in our history, not once but twice, and look at the mess we are in now because if it. Shame on you, don’t you feel any responsibility at all? Yes, us Democrat’s are a little upset (ya think?) and will do everything in our power so you don’t vote in two more idiots for another 4 years. Go Obama!!
Smarten up America.

Elisabeth has been bashed from day one because she’s a republican. There aren’t many of them in the mainstream media, so it’s refreshing. I can’t imagine trying to talk over 3 loudmouth liberals everyday! No wonder she’s frustrated. Instead of telling her to broaden her horizons and consider other points of view, maybe the other ladies should try it as well. Biden has made some rediculous comments, but I’m still going to watch tonight with an open mind. Imagine that!

Kelley, you didn’t get the point. Since you are from Kansas, I’ll try to put this to you simply. Barbara Walters gave her a forum to promote Sarah Palin. Instead of grabbing her chance, and perhaps changing someone’s mind who is adverse (that means “against” in Kansas) to Palin, she chose to counter with another mornic childish question. Either she couldn’t GIVE 3 reasons why Palin was qualified or it was just more important to her to argue than to highlight the strengths of her candidate. She is a “right fighter” with nothing valid to back it up. It wouldn’t hurt you 5 women to watch this video and deal with FACTS. It does require an ability to read, but the words are small and minimal. Good luck. And btw, from the reaction of the studio audience, you guys won’t be missed on The View.

The View has become “OBAMA VIEW”. For Joy to say Palin is “stupid” was uncalled for. Your show is so one sided it is pathetic. I think you should allow Elisabeth to share her view as well, even if she does not agree with you other 4. I can honestly say, that I have no intentions to watch “The View” as it has become nothing more than The Jerry Springer show — pathetic. Elisabeth would be smart to move on and have her own show where everyone has a say, regardless if you all agree with one another or not. For you OBAMA supporters, do you not know he is not for the low/middle class - he is going to tax the hell out of us. Maybe that change is good for you — but the rest of us have paid in enough!

I think that Elizabeth and Sarah Palin should start a cooking show where they can fly in helicopters over the Alaskan territory and shoot wildlife, and then promptly return and boil them for dinner in a kitchen somwhere in Martha’s Vinyard. Now that would be good TV. Perhaps thy could where aprons with attachments to hold their babies while cooking too…as to force more of their personal ignorant and radical right-winged convictions upon the American people. Take the silver spoon out of your mouth Elizabeth, and use it to feed some intelligence to Sarah.

I don’t personally watch the View because it is so one-sided. You have 4 very liberal people including Barbara and the worst one of the 4 is Joy. My wife tries to watch the show for a short time each day and relates to me what went on. The whole show should be taken off the air. Joy should be shipped out to a small island where all of the natives are also liberal and she could live there for the rest of her life. Barbara, if she had any guts at all, should get rid of Whoppie and Sherrie and replace one of them with another conservitive so that Elizabeth doesn’t have to make all of the really good comments all alone.

Elisabeth is a complete moron. She has been an obnoxious chid since she showed up on the show, and I really didn’t care for her on Survivor either. She can’t wait for her turn to talk, and at the very least should afford these women she works with and professes to respect an ounce of civility and let them speak. The minute someone begins a sentence she thinks she may not like the end of, she begins with the head shaking and gestures and the interruptions. She knows so little, she doesn’t know how little she knows. Thank God for a mute button.

I can’t stand this show, esp. Joy Baher, and after her, Whoopie. But Joy is just… I don’t know the word… so arrogant, for one thing, and so condescending and… did I already say arogant?
They got upset, etc. when Elizabeth said “Give me one reason to vote for Obama” because they hate being given that question. Obama is much more inexperienced than Palin, and they know it, but his “light” has blinded them. (Remember B. Walters giggling like a schoolgirl when Obama was there and saying, “We think you’re sexy”.. giggle, giggle.”
I hope Elizabeth does leave. She truly deserves better than this very biased and very annoying show. She’d be great on Fox news! And then the View gals can hire another liberal and they can all just eat each other alive!

Oh, and before them, Rosie, and now also Barbara? There’s a saying, “if it’s everybody, it’s YOU.” This means that if you are not able to get along with anyone, you are probably the problem. This is the case with this GIRL. Yes she should move over to Fixed News. Give the rest of us some relief. They got upset because Barbara posed a direct question to her regarding Sarah Palin, and gave her the opportunity to speak directly to that, and she immediately countered with the same question only made it about Obama, who was NOT the topic of discussion. She is a shrieking banshee, and yes she should move on to the playground where they only play the games she likes. Look up Liberal and Conservative in the dictionary. I am proud to be liberal which means generous and broad-minded.

Anyone who feels that Sarah Palin is experienced enough to be president…do something for me. Go to Google’s home page. Under the search field you will see something about their 10th birthday and it asks if you want to try their search engine from 2001 (the oldest available). Try searching Sarah Palin and see if anything comes up….nothing will. Basically 7 years ago, she was a complete nobody. Even myself, my sisters, and father all come up on the first page (and we are just your average person). Then try Obama, Biden, etc. and you will find pages! Being a mayor of a town with less than some local high schools where I live and then governor (by pure luck) for two years of a state with fewer people than Columbus, Ohio or Indianapolis does not qualify you to be president of the best country on this planet. Besides, do you think the people of Alaska really have the same issues that people in the continental U.S. face? Please, people, try to see the facts, do your research. This is not just about a few issues but the whole picture.

4 opinions
1) if you watch this whole thing, whoppi was right and was the only one who kept a cool head and made some valid points.
2) Hasselbeck got a little too defensive and her facial expressions gave away her thoughts while the others were talking, she got too heated over a small subject.
3) Joy and Barbra did take it a little too far, but not so far that they too need to be bashed (nor does Hasselbeck) by the public for their opinions.
4) To all those people who said that they’re gonna stop watching this show now (considering they watched it before), are you serious? you’re seriously gonna stop watching a show because of one episode where the people shared a different view than you? (reason the show’s named The View) That’s what we open thinkers call being close minded and not open to other views.

Mrs. Hasselbeck’s ego surpasses her brains. She is one of the most obnoxious females on TV that, an entertaining show like the View, as to put their viewers through - can’t they see she is a big pain and her obsessive rantings about “her opions” is extremely annoying - which takes many viewers to “not” watch the View any longer, I know of over a dozen women that this fits.
Barbara get rid of her - there has to be some other intelligent, entertaing women out there in our world - other than the likes of his pompous, childish, spoiled, self-indulgening female big-mouth - is Sarah Palin her sister or mother? They both have big mouths with no substance.

Hasselback sees only what the Republican party and right wing interest groups in America tell her she should see. She can’t think for herself (or doesn’t want to) and she is like many people I know who allow these groups to do their thinking for them. She presents this one-sided rhetoric so vehemently and claims it as a POV that she has come to after much thought on the subject. Baloney! If right wing leaders tell her to believe something, she believes it and shares it on the air. To her defense she is not unlike many in this country….sadly. She’s just louder, more obnoxious about it, and happens to have a national forum for sharing her uninformed “view.”

Palin went to 5 colleges in 4 years and graduated at the bottom of her class. McCain was only accepted because of his father’s clout and he graduated at the bottom of his class. Obama is a Harvard Law School Prof who could have made a fortune but went back to the streets of Chicago and changed the lives of many. He owns one home, not 7, he isn’t accused as Palin is of accepting money from contractors for public work and he didn’t hire all his highschool friends who were unqualified to work for him in roles paid for by taxpayers that truly required expertise.
God please, let us get Obama. I need a tax cut, not a bailout of the bloated oil industry.

It took a presidential election campaign to make me realize what small-minded women all of you are. The one exception is Elisabeth Hasselbeck who clearly is the only one who uses any kind of tact with the more conservative guests on that show. I used to admire Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg, but your treatment of Senator McCain and his wife Cindi compared with how you treated Obama (telling him, “We think you are sexy.”) was an eye-opener as was your petty criticism of Sarah Palin. You criticize Elisabeth of being “bull-headed” close-minded, but the rest of you are far worse. I look at the objects of your petty criticism and realize they are people far more admirable than you yourselves are. I always realized Barbara Walters was rather liberal, but I didn’t realize she was so very small-minded and so extremely left-wing. It’s a disappointment since I always enjoyed Barbara in her interviews of people all over the globe, and Whoopi as a talented actress and comedian, but no more. Carol Rodgers
