“The Simpsons” Banned Venezula: “The Simpsons” Venezula Ban Televen

The Simpsons has been banned in Venezula. Local TV station Televen has withdrawn the long-running family comedy from its daily 11am slot because “it is inappropriate for children.”
Televen spokeswoman Elba Guillen says: “It had to be taken off. They consider it to be a series that isn’t appropriate for that time because it isn’t appropriate for children.”
The station has replaced the cartoon with, get this, Baywatch Hawaii, which famously features scantily clad singles sweating it out as lifeguards off the coast of Hawaii.
“We are hoping it will continue to have a good rating, because The Simpsons worked very well – so much so that it had the highest levels of viewership for that morning timetable in the history of the channel.”
