The Sci-Fi Channel Becomes SyFy

The Sci-Fi Channel is now SyFy….What is the meaning of this?
In effort to adopt a more modern image, The Sci Fi channel is changing its name to SyFy, TVWeek revealed on Sunday.
“It gives us a unique word and it gives us the opportunities to imbue it with the values and the perception that we want it to have,” network president Dave Howe said in a statement Sunday. “It made us feel much cooler, much more cutting-edge, much more hip, which was kind of bang-on what we wanted to achieve communication-wise,” he continued.
The name change will become official in July.

What’s the meaning? The channel’s executives are insane…incompetent…delusional. Probably all three.
