Showtime has ordered a sixth and final season of The L Word. The series, which follows a group of Los Angeles-lesbians as the navigate life in the big city, became the first lesbian primetime drama on television when it debuted in January 2004.
Showtime has ordered eight episodes for the show’s final season. The L Word finale is targeted to go into production in early summer for an early 2009 premiere.
