‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ Final Trailer Is Here! [WATCH]

This November, the film series we’ve all been obsessed with for years is coming to a close. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is slated for release on November 20, and now, we have the last trailer to hold us over until the end comes!

In Mockingjay Part 2, Katniss is the leader of the revolution against the Capitol and Panem’s corrupt and evil leader, President Snow. But fans of the book series will recognize many familiar faces in this trailer, like Finnick Odair and Primrose Everdeen, fan favorites who may not get the ending fans want and wish for them. The stakes are higher than ever in this latest installment, and Katniss is still ferocious, still brave, still suffering to protect her loved ones from an awful fate.

Action permeates this trailer like none other that came before it. Viewers see the final battle to liberate the people of Panem from the evil rule that forced upon them not only poverty and control through surveillance and violence, but the Hunger Games themselves: children forced to kill each other in an arena to maintain power and inspire fear.

This is truly a franchise like no other. The Hunger Games revolutionized the YA genre in both film and literature, and ushered in a new era of female-led movies with dystopian themes. It let studios and filmmakers know that complex female characters with strength, bravery, and heart could lead a hugely successful franchise, catapulted Jennifer Lawrence into super stardom (and into our hearts), and generally became a cultural phenomenon.

Tickets are currently on sale to see the final installment, but the release of the final movie will be bittersweet, to say the least.
