“The Biggest Loser” Winner Helen Phillips “TODAY” VIDEO (05/14/09)
At 48, Helen Phillips has becomethe oldest winner ever of The Biggest Loser. The 48-year-old mom of three and grandma of five from Sterling Heights, Michigan lost 140 pounds over the course of the season. Helen lost 54.47 percent of her weight, enough to beat Mike Morelli of South Lyon, Michigan, and Tara Costa of New York City on the three-hour finale of The Biggest Loser: Couples, broadcast live from Hollywood on Tuesday night.

“It’s such a transformation for me. I feel so healthy. I feel like I’ve gotten my life back. I feel 30 years old again,” Helen exclaimed to TODAY’s Al Roker on Wednesday morning.

I have MS and can’t work out as hard as the BL contestants do. I would love to know what exercises I can do. I’m able to get around pretty good, go to MS swim class 3 days a week, walk when i can. but i need more to get my metabolism going. I’ll be 61 June 15th and want to lose more before my bday. Have already lost 30lbs. Any ideas? I would love to be on the show also…. but guess that’s not possible.
