13. Primeval

This movie has the problem that its crocodilian monster (inspired by a real-life man-eater called Gustave) isn’t as interesting as the human monsters — the African warlords who basically make up the other half of the plot. Trying to include both at once just doesn’t work, and the heavy-handed use of the croc as a symbol of violence simply comes across as forced. Also, that scaly bad boy really shouldn’t be able to run on land like that…
