DWI, DMV Fraud, and Bar Brawls in the Dominican Republic? Sounds like The Garden State to us!
Remember the melee we told you about that got much of the cast of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey detained in the Caribbean? Well, turns out the brawl ended with a punch in the face for series spitfire Teresa Giudice.
The entire cast — including Caroline and her husband Albert, Jacqueline and Chris Laurita, Teresa and Joe Giudice, newcomers Kathy and Richy Wakile, Joey and Melissa Gorga, The Manzo Children (Chris, Albie, and Lauren), and roommate Gregory Bennett — had flown down to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for a week-long, adults only vacation. Things seemed to be going swimmingly — Or as swimmingly as they can go on reality TV… — until Feb. 23.
All the cast members partied at the bar at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cunta until about 1 AM on the night in question. Drama ensued when Giudice opened a bottle of champagne and sprayed it around the hotel bar, soaking other guests.
“It was late, they were on vacation, and she was just having fun,” a show insider recalls. “She opened the champagne and just started spraying it everywhere and it went all over this woman near her.”
According to the source, the drenched woman’s husband did not take kindly to the rowdy group and physically attacked Teresa.
“It was crazy, he got really angry and punched Teresa in the face!”
In response Giudice’s husband Joe along with reality star’s Albie and Chris Manzo approached the man and a fight started, with others quickly becoming involved. Staff from Bravo attempted to break up the fight, but it only ended when police arrived, arresting eight of those brawling.
Two men were injured in the fracas, one with a fractured leg and scratches on his face, while another was left with a fractured arm.
“Usually when there’s a fight we take one guy, but this time we took everybody,” a police representative told RadarOnline.
Though the getaway was being filmed for the upcoming third season of the Bravo docu-soap, the brawl will be edited out of the broadcast.
It’s not the first time the Jersey Housewives have been involved in controversy. Joe Giudice was arrested for the umpteenth time last week. The 40-year-old, whose driver’s license is currently suspended, fraudulently obtained a new one in June using his brother’s documents, according to the Passaic County’s Prosecutor’s Office.
