Big screen Taylor? Award-winning songbird Taylor Swift is on the brink of expanding her movie resume, according to multiple reports.
Billboard magazine’s Woman of the Year and sometime actress (she was previously in Valentine’s Day) has been offered the role of Eponine in the big screen adaption of the musical Les Miserables.
Amanda Seyfried is up for the part of Cosette in the movie musical — which is being helmed by Tom Hooper of The King’s Speech fame. The Les Miserables cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.
The latest incarnation of the classic is based on the blockbuster stage show, which ran on Broadway from 1987 to 2003. Victor Hugo’s 19th-century French epic has spawned dozens of film and television adaptations. The production won eight Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical.
