Taylor Swift Grants Dying Child’s Final Wish [Watch]
The power of Taylor Swift is undeniable, earlier this week her music helped calm a crying baby, and then she granted the wish of a dying four-year-old fan by calling her on FaceTime.
The pop superstar has proven on numerous occasions that she will do just about anything to connect with her fans, and change their lives in some small way. This time around she called a little girl who is fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer. Jalene Salinas of San Antonio, Texas, is a huge Taylor Swift fan, and she had asked to speak with the singer.
Swift spent 20 minutes on the phone with Salinas. After discovering that the littler girl was in a lot of pain during the call, the hitmaker said, “I’m so sorry you’re having a bad night. I’m so happy to talk to you though and I’m so happy you like ‘Shake It Off.’ You look beautiful tonight, you really do. You’re just as pretty as your pictures.” Salina’s currently request is that she be able to sing ‘Shake it Off’ with Taylor Swift.
During the call Swift also comforted the little girls mom. “I got back from London and I heard about her. It’s just unfathomable to have to watch Jalene go through this.”.
To get Taylor Swift’s attention the San Antonio community took to Twitter where they shared the hasthag #ShakeItOffJalene. The term ended up trending on Twitter, which eventually led to the phone call.
Speaking to KENS 5 News, the little girls mom said, “We can check everything off and as her mom it just, it means the world to me that she got to do and see [everything] and everything is checked off now. It means so much to me that you reached out to us.”
Following the call, the family of little Jalene Salinas posted a YouTube video to thank Taylor Swift for making her dream come true.
