Tatum O’Neal Arrested: Crack Cocaine Tatum O’Neal Arrested Drugs
Academy Award-winning former child star Tatum O’Neal has been arrested after she was busted allegedly buying drugs near her Manhattan home.
The forty-four year old actress was charged with buying cocaine and crack near her Lower East Side loft, New York Police Department moles have spilled to the New York Post. She has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. According the NY Post, Tatum, who was in possession of a crack pipe, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. by detectives from Manhattan South Narcotics on Clinton Street between East Broadway and Grand Street.
Tatum O’Neal, the daughter of actor Ryan O’Neal, became the youngest-ever Oscar winner when she took home the trophy for her role in the film Paper Moon at age ten.
Tatum was keen to show off just why she won that Oscar, quickly coming up with several quick excuses for why she was trying to purchase drugs:
“When the police approached, she asked them, ‘You know who I am, right?’ ” one source told The Post.
“Then she said, ‘I’m researching a part - I’m doing this for a part’ ” as a junkie.
“Then she said she’d been clean for two years, and that she’d just came out today,” the source said.
“Can’t we just forget about this?” the sources said she begged detectives.
