Sylvester Stallone Clothing Line & Lifestyle Brand Inspired By “Rocky” & “Rambo”
How would you like to dress like some of the most memorable characters of Sylvester Stallone’s career?
And we aren’t talking about the tacky cop he played in the early ’90s stinker Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.
Film’s proverbial tough-guy is the unexpected latest (and possibly least expected) celebrity to launch a clothing line. Sly’s drawing on the athletic threads and ruggedy camouflage he wore in films like Rambo and Rocky as the inspiration for a new men’s lifestyle brand.
Stallone’s menswear — aimed at “the rebel and the gentleman” — is due for a 2012 release. Among the first categories to be introduced will be jeans, shirts, outerwear, underwear and watches, the actor says. A line of eyewear, grooming products, fragrance, activewear, and athletic shoes will follow. Those characters will not only be the inspiration for the brand, which targets guys 25 to 40, but’ll also be used in marketing campaigns for the debut Fall 2012 collection.
“Rocky at the end of the day is a love story, while Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he’s a loner,” Stallone, 64, told Women’s Wear Daily Thursday. “I’ve lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn’t worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character.”
