Susan Boyle, who became an overnight sensation and a YouTube legend after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent last spring, is to release a cover of Aubrey Hepburn’s Oscar-winning classic “Moon River.”
The 48-year-old Scot has selected the song, which was originally sung in the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, to be the first single from her forthcoming debut album, expected later this year.
A source close to Susan told The Mirror Thursday: “Susan’s version of this song if fantastic and her fans will love it.”
“Older listeners will remember it from Breakfast At Tiffanys but for younger fans of BGT, Susan will sound like a more modern Hepburn. It is a breathtaking version of the track and just shows what her voice is capable of.”
Other covers set to appear on the album included “Cry Me A River” and a Rolling Stones classic.
