Okay, I agree with SK. I mean, I read Smeyer’s books, all of them. Let me just say that SK wrote for years. He’s been really good with his writing, making it into movies and even on Family Guy and Simpsons. He uses things he has with his own life, not some “dream” of a couple that’s in the forest and pop comes 3 months later a story that teaches kids to do anything to be popular, pretty, and if your none of those you are a shitty person just like Jessica cause she’s normal.. [Bella calls her a "Blabber mouth."]Another thing is, Smeyer has no conflict really, I mean REAL conflict. Ones that cause more harm than good. Ya, James dies and Victoria too, but those are MINOR deaths. I mean crazy main character deaths. mean, the near rape expirence was okay to say the least but EDWARD came to save her yet again. The Tyler van accident. Edward. The fight between Victoria and the Cullens? Mostly Edward. Edward always saves her. It’s like Bella [self insteration Smeyer] is a damsel and Edward is the knight and shining armor. Yawn. Been over done. Atleast SK has done his [Gasp] RESEARCH! Smeyer wrote something that really made me laugh. “The west side of Brazil” West really? SK is smart enough not to make those mistakes she had done. SK’s books are smart scary, Smeyer’s just teaches kids to get married at 18 or wat ever age she is and get hurt by her husband and get pregnant and drop out of collage. Bella teaches them to be weak and cry and whine, letting men stomp on her. Edward teaches boys to be abusive to women. Atleast SK doesn’t teach them that. They are based on REAL accurate places where as Forks is the rainest town dispite that Moblie Alabma holds the record, and where the island Bella and Edward had there honey moon at there is no islands in the coordnets. SK doesn’t make historical mistakes like how Jasper was old enugh to be in the army but faked age. SK doesn’t break laws, riding a motorcycle without a permit or helmet in Washington is illegal. Saying that SK is jealous is over rated. What is there to be jealous about? Vampires who aren’t vampires? Pedo wolves? Abuse and mistreating characters. [Leah/Sam/Emily triangle, Leah gets screwed cause she gets the brunt of that pain] No, he works harder. As a writer [beginner] I’m jealous. She came up with a story in three months. Mine is taking years.I’m doing characters. And for this past year I been online searching for good writing help. Then she comes along and ruins it and my chances. I would just agree that SK was right cause of his awards.

yep. stephenie meyer’s twilight series was disappointing at best. not only the technical errors on the writing side, the story is flawed and you can see how many twists and turns she’s had to make to have her fairytale happy ending.
stephen king is crazy, but not a hack.

It’s evident to see that most of Stephen King’s fans are a bunch or pathetic idiots. You all think you’re right and that’s obvious after a first glance of reading this page. Now let me assure you that I am not a hardcore Twilight fan, nor have I read the books. However, Stephenie Meyer has written books which have soild over 40 million copies in a fraction of the time that it took Stephen King. He has apparently done 350 million – all those copies took 40 years to amass! If someone sells 40 million books in 3 years then they are a great writer, fact. You can’t sell those figures on hype alone! Get it through your thick heads. Stephen King has definitley got an axe to grind here. If he were perfectly happy within himself he wouldn’t have to stir up shit like he’s been doing here. I would put money on the only reason he hasn’t slated J.K. Rowling is because he knows that he would lose and poeple would turn against him in droves. He is a sad pathetic little has been.

A few things:
For those of you who say SK is Jealous, how do you explain his praise for the Harry Potter novels, or the fact that he recommended them in his book, On Writing?
For those who call him a hack, how do you explain his win of the medal for distinguished contribution to American letters, an award given to such writers as Arthur Miller and Toni Morrison?
To those who say Stephenie Meyer is a good writer… no. No and you know it. Her writing is clumsy and awkward and that’s what King’s CRITICISM was about.

Stephen King is the greatest author in the history of forever. I like Stephanie Meyer’s, though, and I’m a guy (not gay). So, I think it is safe to say that her books aren’t just for girls. I like her style, and while I was reading it, I was like “Oh, my God, this is reeeeeeally good. I’m sorry, Stephen King,” (I was so into the Twilight series that people actually started calling me gay. Go Figure) anyway, Stephen King isn’t a lier. He will speak the truth; he doesn’t care. I think that he just doesn’t like her books and her style. Why on earth would he lie? What, to make himself feel better? That is down right stupid! Does that sound like the Stephen King we love? Heck no! There’s nothing wrong with him not liking Stephanie Meyer’s. He’s just being honest, is he not? I just got done reading “The Hobbit” and I thought to myself, “Wow, this is terrible and boring,” I was falling asleep while reading it and I kept phasing out (I had to read a classic, unfortuantely, for English) Tolkien just isn’t an author i’m fond of, and yet, everyone, or most people of talked to anyway, loves the Lord of the Ring Trilogy.
So, I think I have made my point clear. Stephen King isn’t a lier and he isn’t Jealous. He is the literal King of Horror forever.

Stephanie meyer is a one hit wonder. yay she has one successful series Stephen King has hundreds. Twilight will just die out like every other cult favorite ever, and Stephen will still be writing, and making bank of his hundreds of successes. So i think it’s fair to say that he knows what he’s talking about.

Stephen King Just breaths and a successful story comes out. Twilight just gained popularity, because it became a fad.

Comparing SM and SK is absurd. They write completely different genres. Of course that doesn’t change the fact that SM is a terrible writer. Her abuse of adverbs and adjectives (not to mention tags) attests to that fact. Good writing isn’t about having a good story. It’s a craft in and of itself. I don’t like Harry Potter, don’t really care for the story. BUT Ms. Rowlings is an excellent writer. Her stories don’t appeal to me, but the woman’s got talent. SM is talentless. I supposed her story appeals to some, but the writing is simply atrocious.
