Spencer Pratt is reacting to the harsh criticism directed at him from his new mother-in-law.

In this week’s edition of Us Weekly, Darlene Egelhoff, mother of Heidi Montag, offered her opinion on Heidi and Spencer’s surprise wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico two weeks ago.

She also accused Spencer of drugging Heidi in a bid to get her to go through with the elopement.

“I say I can’t wait to prove her wrong. And we’ll be married for the rest of our lives. I’m sure she’s just hurt and reacting crazy because she wasn’t there,” The Hills star said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on Thursday.
