Looks like we owe the two of you who thought the Heidi Montag/Spencer Pratt split was totally legit twenty bucks: Heidi has filed for a divorce from her estranged husband Spencer nearly two months after she went to court to seek a legal separation.

“Heidi has amended her petition for separation and has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt,” Heidi’s lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, confirmed on Friday. “The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalised in a timely manner in an out-of-court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other over the possibility of finalising their divorce.”

Heidi, 23, lodged a divorce petition in Santa Monica, California Superior Court this week, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple — authors of the rather aptly titled How to Be Famous: Our Guide to Looking the Part, Playing the Press, and Becoming a Tabloid Fixture — co-starred on the MTV docu-series The Hills. In 2008, they wed inn a ceremony in Mexico. Heidi and Spencer exchanged vows for the second time in May 2009 in Pasadena, California, amid claims that their Mexican nuptials were not legal.
