Dating can be hard. And if you’ve recently relocated to a foreign country, it can be a hundred times harder. Sure, a Taylor Swift concert can help change that, but if you don’t know anyone, how do you find a date to take?
Ask the internet, of course.
That’s what one man did when he moved to Australia, with two Taylor Swift tickets in hand, and no one to go with. He shot an overly-dramatic video describing his predicament in great detail, emphasizing his overwhelming loneliness and his search for the Taylor Swift fans “among him.”
“Do people like me even exist?” he asks. Alas, that is the existential question we all struggle with in our lives.
Watch the funny/silly/sad video here: Marius Larsen, from Norway, narrates the video, in which he appears walking on an Australian beach, taking selfies with his new friends the kangaroo and the peacock, and trying desperately to rub suntan lotion on his own back (with a boomerang). He doesn’t understand the “culture,” he says, and even though he’s made a few friends, “they’re not the kind you take to a Taylor Swift concert.” You mean the kangaroo doesn’t want to shake it off? Absurd.
It’s been three days since Larsen uploaded the beseeching video to his Youtube, and since then, the video has been viewed almost 38,000 times. I think it’s safe to say it won’t be long until this new Aussie finds a Swift-loving friend in the Down Under.
