Remember 2005, when it seemed like the spitfire Canadian Rachel McAdams was everywhere? Sigh. Those were the days. Ms. Thing resurfaced at the Critics’ Choice Awards to support boyfriend Ryan Gosling whom she met when they were cast as lifelong loves in “The Notebook.”

IMDb tells us McAdams just wrapped “Marriage,” a noir drama starring Pierce Brosnan and Patricia Clarkson, and she’s in talks to play another star-crossed lover, the role of Clare in “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” The romance (based on the best-selling book by Audrey Niffenegger) follows the lives of an ordinary pair who meet in an extraordinary way when he involuntarily time-travels back to her adolescence. Director Gus Van Sant (”Good Will Hunting”) and star Brad Pitt (”Babel”) were previously attached to the project, but reportedly are no longer. Too bad!

Gosling himself has been picking up plenty of accolades for his role as a drug-addicted teacher in the indie film “Half Nelson”; next he may star in the “Lost”-style thriller “The Other Side” with Jason Lee (”My Name is Earl”) and Brittany Murphy (”Uptown Girls”).
