Despite an earlier Friday morning report from TMZ.com claiming that Snoop Dogg’s wife, Shante Broadus, might be dead, the rapper’s manager has dismissed the rumor as “ridiculous,” MTV News has learned.

Well that’s good news.

TMZ reported that an anonymous tipster called into the California Highway Patrol on Thursday saying that Snoop had “the dead body of his wife in his basement” after the woman was killed in car accident.

Shante was listed as a “possible fatality” on the California Highway Patrol’s website on Thursday, April 9, TMZ wrote.

“The Word is that ‘Snoop Doggy Dog [sic]‘ has the dead body of his wife in his basement….”

The gossip site claimed that the report was “so ridiculous that no one at the CHP bothered to forward it to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.”

Snoop and Shante have three children together, Corde, Cordell and Cori. The family is the subject of the E! reality series, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood. Snoop is also the star of MTV’s Doggy After Dark.
